Can you imagine Squid Game as an anime? All the blood xD

Love your style. Reminds me of the Sailor Moon, Cowboy Bebop era. Better days...

ShonenTaco responds:

I would love an anime spin-off of Squid Game! Thank you so much, I love 90s and early 2000s anime I do my best to replicate that art style.

Were you a fan of robot chicken by any chance? I'm getting that kinda vibe

RichardCynic responds:

Yeah, I was there for the very beginning of Adult Swim, actually, so I had the privilege of seeing all the classics when they first aired. However, this is just a bit of concept art for a silly game I was working on years ago.

Really impressive. Not totally photorealistic, but it lends itself to what looks like older videogames' painted cell shade models.

RichardCynic responds:

I did this with the lasso tool and mouse. I didn't even have a tablet then, haha. It was horrible.

This looks great! Nice action scene. It's hard to get everything looking smooth, natural, and in perspective with ships as well, so I really respect that everything looks in its place. I think some improvements could be for the green lasers, making them thinner and less transparent to match their look in the films and games. Right now they look similar to sprays of some sort -- but I totally respect that I myself can't really draw lasers, and the perspective of the right side of the fighter is a little off. Everything on the right should be just slightly bigger in order to cue the brain that we are closer to it, which we are. As it is, the right wings look just a little smaller actually, which makes it look either lopsided, or distorted somehow.

Still a wonderful piece, and very nicely colored and stylized. I would expect to see this in a professional comic or graphic novel's illustrations. Great work!

TheShokBlok responds:

I totally agree, thanks for the feedback! I always look forward to improve my stuff so this is really helpful

Wow this looks great. I've never played OSU myself, actually, but I used to watch friends play and listen to a lot of the music. I really like this piece. It's open and vibrant. My only complaint would be I'd want just a little more contrast, mostly on the darkest of the dark colors, where there are shadows, as the whole piece seems to have a subtle pink tint in the shadows, and also be just so slightly blurred -- but that looks like a brush thing. But of course, one can always turn the contrast up on my monitor temporarily. It's really not a problem. The image as a whole is lusciously large and popping. It still looks great!

Also congrats on 1939 votes. That's astounding!

KWMS responds:

I agree, my monitor handles colors in a very strange way, the colors look very desaturated and without contrast so I have to calculate approximately what the result would look like.
and for some reason I tend to place pink tones in everything xDD
Thanks for the review! :)

This one is almost a 5 for me. I see you've updated the eyes. Did you touch the smile too? The smile and eyes have somewhat of a different expression although I can't quite figure out what it is. The mouth looks almost devious, but the eyes somewhere between friendly and excited about a novel sight. Still a beautiful work. The text especially stands out and actually drew my eyes away from the rest of the image, in a positive way.

Also, congrats on having your piece used as inspiration in AIM! I used to judge that competition years back. It was a lot of fun, a lot of high quality art, and amazing themed submissions to go with them. Made a lot of friends :)

KWMS responds:

I agree, there is something in the expression that did not convince me. I guess I overworked it xDD.
I have some trouble representing subtle expressions, but I like to try to draw them anyway...
Thanks a lot for the review and for the congratulations! that really motivates me to keep drawing :D

Wow, your anatomy, shading, and color palette are so smooth, as well as that cross hatch blush. It all looks very professional, anime/manga. I especially like the small details like hooded eyelids, bandaids, and sight flushes in the skin so the pieces pop into the foreground. Great work

Came across your work looking through some posts under the geometry dash tag after I found out one of my fans used a song of mine in a level :)

KWMS responds:

Thank you very much for the review, for this challenge I planned to finish quickly since I had little time to make an illustration so I did it first intention, without correcting anything...
I'm glad you liked the result.

It's weird that you found me that way, I guess it's because I'm a Geometry Dash creator :P
But I appreciate the follow ;D

I for the life of me can't remember where this is from, but I love it

LilSpook responds:

Thank you! It's from Courage the Cowardly Dog ^^

Wow this is actually really nice!
