Hey!

Don't have the mental capacity right now to write in Russian, HOWEVER:
very much appreciate the acid elements of the track.

I think leads could come down by 2 dB overall, bringing drums up, and not mix quite as loud. It sounds as if you have a brick wall limiter on the master. Bass also could come up in the mix a bit.

Other than that, very varied and interesting take on a classic song <3

I promise I will come say hi when I am more awake!

X-500 responds:

Hi! Wow, thanks for honest review! Really appreciate it!)

I think I would put it as dance

My only complaint is that the song is mixed a bit loud and seems to just have brick wall limiter applied. Beyond that it doesn't sound bad at all, just the whole track is distorting at the limiter.

It has some phonk elements but overall, dance.

Спасибо большое

Так лучше?

I hear a great song hiding under what sounds like digital distortion on the bigger sections. Not sure what's causing it, but I definitely hear lots of reverb creating a wash, a 10k fuzz on the guitars it sounds like, and the drums aren't cutting through the mix as well as I'd like. I would pull down the cymbals and see how that sounds. Smaller sections sounds totally fine minus I can't tell if it's my tinnitus or recording noise that could be removed

Still I hear a coherent track and a nice style once it's a bit more cleaned up. Great work

ADarkerBreed responds:

Thanks for your comment, definitely stuff I'll keep in mind moving forward! I'm glad you enjoy the track despite its roughness.

Got some fantastic sounds going on, although feel the bubbly bell like pluck and some other sounds may be spaced out too wide in the stereo field. Maybe rely on delay more than reverb and it may help.

This is a really interesting piece! Nice work

BottleTopBillFanclub responds:

Thank you so much, yes I do agree with you. You have good advice!

I wouldn't say this is hiphop, but it's a nice compelling tune. I would recommend running this through an internet mastering service or something as louder these days is better. I think it would do a world of good to bring the bass forward for that matter

Nisker121 responds:

I don't think it's hip-hop either. And I wasn't trying to make it so. I just didn't know what genre it was myself, so I let the bot define it. The mixing is bad, I know. I just haven't finished the music yet. The full version will be out very soon! :)

Take my straight 5 for this quality beat. And screw the GD players who give you low star reviews for something you can't control.

Maybe we need to do something about that.

I especially appreciate your low and hi-passing and what sounds like moving around the stereo field. Probably the highest quality lo-fi beat I've heard to date, great transitions.

Casper responds:

Thanks, it was actually your tips when I first started uploading my stuff on here that made me compress my drums and just overall mix them better! The effects on this track were kinda rushed but i guess it fits my style haha. Yeah, some melodies are panned as well as the hi hats and some risers. I don't really pay too much attention to whining GD players but I leave the option on since there have been some really cool levels made with some of my music.

You have turned Trois into an android a la Attack Attack! aha. I would never have recognized. Great work. My only complaint would be the amp tone could use some work on rhythm guitars. It is mostly fuzz, and has a pretty distinct digital feel to it on chords. Individual notes sound acceptable. I am not able to tell if there is a double track or not.

Still, well deserved front page. Congrats to you both <3

mr-jazzman responds:

Many thanks for your review!

Yeah, you’re right about the guitar tone. I’ve been experimenting lately with some IRs and screamer effects to give it a more organic tone. The VST I used had a doubling algorithm applied, but I’ve been experimenting with quadrupling tracks for an extra-wide/extra-heavy feel.

WHY DOES THIS HAVE NO REVIEWS.

It legitimately sounds like a filmscore. Fantastic and moving percussion, gorgeous ambience. Beautiful praise song

Troisnyx responds:

Thank you 🙏🏽 I've admittedly no idea, save that I was moved to share it on Easter Sunday and I was just so overcome with emotion over it. Thank you for being my first review on this ~

Ooh, here it is! I found you!

Fantastic job on parsing this arrangement and getting to know a new library. I'm actually listening to this on the toilet and it's uh, interesting to say the least 😂

The only complaint I have is the French horn is a bit too present relative to the rest of the ensemble and the tambourine could be pushed a bit further back. Beyond that, very, very nice!

Shiverwar responds:

I gotta admit, it's still a little foreign to me compared to the EWQL Symphonic Orchestra soundbank, and since I need to contact them to deactivate the license on my old device, I figured the BBC orchestra vst would be a good substitute, and I was not disappointed! Admittedly, as you said, some of the mixing could have been more fine-tuned to get it to sound better, but I'm satisfied with what I put up here, and I'm glad you are too! Maybe I should revisit other tunes with these sounds...
