Lots of distortion. Too much reverb. Rhythms are good, but everything is just covering that up, especially the staticy reverb. If you're going for trap, I have some tutorials I can link you to.

maybe distortionwave is my genre, who knows, thanks a lot!
Not bad, but some of the harmonies sound ... dissonant, and the hats are sticking out in the mix pretty hard. Lighter touch is needed.
thanks for the input, i'll see if i can
patch it up soon!
Pretty good, if a little generic. Not a lot of velocity modulation going on, and man, without lyrics, this song is really bland.
I don't think Miku as an instrument is copyright, though, just her image.
Well I can understand, this was nothing more than an experiment. Thanks for the feedback!
Interesting, and pretty good mixing, but 808 tone could use some improvement. It's just such an odd timbre for a trap-styled 808, very mid-heavy, not enough sub... Yes! More sub is what it needs, and a punchier kick. Around 1:10 is where it gets prettier. Maybe adjust cutoff and resonance. It seems a bit high for an 808 line as well. The writing is good though.
Overall, pretty good. Could use modulation on that... Christ, what's the name for that synth. Koto? Ah, if you know what a koto is, you'll know what I mean. Needs some variable velocity on that thing, stat. Otherwise, no complaints.
You're always improving and seemingly innovating. I like that. Keep it up.
uuh I think it's either a koto or shamisen. I totally forgot to vary the velocity xD Thanks!
Meh. This is isn't doing it for me. After listening to the stems, I'm not seeing a lot of departure from the source material except for the drop, and everything is sort of laying on top of the bass. Distortion didn't do much for the lead vocals, and the buildups sound ... pixelated, deformed, grossly inattentive and insensitive. Sounds just thrown together, really. Lackluster effort considering the stellar material we have to work with now that stems have been released.
This was made before the stems were released, using only the original as a source...
Good song. Instrumentation and mixing leave something to be desired. Kick and sidechain? No problem. Treble and high end is seriously lacking. I also feel the lead in general isn't sticking out. Feels like accidentally listening to an instrumental instead of a full song, in that regard. Bass is good though.
I appreciate the critique. It really helps a lot, thanks
This sounds like "up on the housetop" to me. Kinda RnB-ish. That delay and reverb is really muddying your mix though.
im uploading another version soon with a few changes
Good chord progression. Stringy pad isn't sticking out too hard but could do with being lowered a bit. Lead could come down as well. I feel like whatever you're mixing on overemphasises bass frequencies, and tones down treble. Really watch those frequencies, because every mix I've heard from you is extremely top-heavy.
Kick could use a little modulation so it doesn't sound like a midi regurgitation. Perc overall could use some variation.
