Podcast itself is not bad. Mixing could be better. Turn the instrumental down a couple dB. Compress and EQ the spoken word just a bit more. This is like a trip back in time for me otherwise, really. Good listen.

Thanks a bunch for enjoying. Gotta like good ole FF Advent Children. Yah, dialing in the Skype calls is always a tricky one with some of the audio.

Enjoyed, although you could probably use a pop filter -- sock over a coat hanger will work. If you already have a pop filter, you might be a little close to the mic. Also, your panning is a bit disorienting at points. A little less extreme would be better.

Indeed kinda 70's, 80's-90's, strange, and Italian sounding. I didn't get much out of it though. Good chord progression, but I feel not much was done with it.

Interesting. Kick was a bit too loud relative to the rest of the track, though, and it didn't really hold my attention very long. Not sure if techno, house, or trance really. Reminds me of 90's techno but idk.

This sounds pretty great. Only complaint, could be a bit less reverb, and snare and kick could come up just a little bit more in the mix. Could I ask what synths and FX are used here?

VGMLibrary responds:

hey EDM364, thanx for input, mostly EastWest orchestral library and BFD drums

I know, Im a sucker for too much verb!

Enjoying the writing, but the lack of velocity on the piano and bass is killing what could be a very emotional and deep piece.

Writing is okay, but this is nowhere near dubstep. I'd say techno.

At points the mixing is way off, or your compression. That bass instrument occasionally climbs to JFC (Jesus F Christ) volume, and totally drowns out the rest of the track.

K-oztron responds:

Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it.

This was my first attempt at using FL Studio, so i still dont have the hang of it.

Kind of sounds like an F777 ripoff without the technical skill behind it. Not an avid fan enough to know but it just feels there is something missing. Could be lack of hi-hats and other elements in the track. Instruments sort of sound like presets.

K-oztron responds:

Thanks for the feedback! I was in no way trying to copy f-777, thank you very much

Definitely not dubstep. Interesting, but your mixing needs improvement. Your mid and treble should never totally overshadow your bass, and your drums are laying there dead on the ground, sort of run over by this quarter note melody. Really, if you're going to have a lot of instruments on the same melody, they should all be much quieter.
