Noodle anatomy is interesting. Color and contrast is good. Reminds me of looking through a fisheye.

Digging the comic book panel look. Upper rope needs more attention to light.

Caustic-Imp responds:

Yeah, I didn’t really know what I was doing with this one. I like how the face turned out but the rest of it could definitely use work!

Good lighting and contrast. However, the distance of that detached arm is ... murky to me. It looks the same size as the other arm and I can't tell if it's closer or farther away.

Spam, no effort, not entertaining. :/

Ah, the classic prayer hands. Nice attention to texture and shading. Pinky on one of the hands is a little wonky, and the angle they come together is a bit funny, but I can't complain. I'm seeing a bright future if you ever decide to do commissions.

Kara-Jayne responds:

Ahhh thanks. <3 the picture was semi that way that I went off of in terms of the pinky.

Absolutely brilliant contrast on the mask. Good values across the board. Could use a somewhat smoother deltoid, since we don't naturally have circular shoulders. Nice work!

Really well done on the camo and the dreads. Cloth could use just a bit more texture, but I think if this were done over in ink, they would pop a little more.

Kara-Jayne responds:

Oh, I just got lazy on the camo lol Was focused on getting the hair/face really well

I'll just be here, quietly waiting for you to get hired by some animation company. :P

You have a good eye for values. I think the only improvement would be finer edges. My art instructor always urged us to try to avoid drawing lines if possible -- or if we did, try to make them imperceptible. Real life doesn't have lines -- just edges, he said. Values pop more, the less visible lines are.

Kara-Jayne responds:

Agreed on the lines. Upon first learning portraits, our instructor also said that a lot of our features aren't solid lines, to only draw a solid line if you see a very distinct edge to it.

I've already seen this one, and I think I already mentioned really digging your values. Really, the only thing I can see improving is some contrast in the hair, and a little shadowing on the face. You can probably cheat with a dark pencil and effect some hair fibers. It's a little rough doing fine lines with markers or pens. I really dig that this is traitional, not digital. There's something endearing to the medium -- plus, the originals sell really well.

Kara-Jayne responds:

This one is my current pride and joy. I"m a big Cisco Ramon/Vibe fan after starting to watch The Flash on TV, so lots of time was taken on it. Lots. I can see what you mean by the hair, even I could see it before you said so. But possibly using some gel ink pens in combination could achieve the right effect.
