I don't think everyone here gets that not all dubstep is smash-in-your-face stuff; this is akin to a lot of the Euro step I've heard, far removed from the traditional brostep and mid-range growls you generally hear in America. The progression leaves a little bit to be desired, but once everything gets going, it's not bad at all. Sounds a lot more like hiphop here to me though. Perhaps that's just the trap elements. Favorited. :)

Thanks a lot Andrea :D I'm not sure what genre I was going for either, Newgrounds doesn't have a "idk lmao" category yet.
The main points I gather from these reviews is "more progression, less reverb."

Very relaxed, to me. The plugs do sound nice. Mind if I asked where you snagged those beauties?

Stapless responds:

the intro is done with the inbuilt sampler for bitwig layered with the Freak Ass Vibraphone and the Freak Ass Marimba. after that i got a sampler again with Nektar Piano, then the bass is done by NI Massive then bouncing, chopping, time stretching, reversing the audio clips. on the sends I got nice free plug called Ampllo2 for reverb, Valhalla UberMod, Valhalla Room for more reverb and Saturn, Trash, Camelphat for alittle distortion.

Ooh, very nice! I love the melody. Just won't get out of my head, haha. I can hear the waltz time signature -- just seems like percussion had its way with it. :P

I don't know how this song happened. It was made in less than half a day. I was trying to reach this point with a lot of similar songs made my irem. And I was also using instruments and effects from several different waltz songs I found a long time ago which I constantly listen to.

Usually I make a lot of changes to a song but I never had to go back and change this one. I had a song made under similar circumstances that was never needing a changing too! But that one was really happy sounding. Probably because of my feeling of apologies.

Takes a while to get going, and is quite unusual -- even going into harmonic minor. Loving the tension. Dissonance is crazy good, and it's very driving. I like it.

I appreciate reviews for my music. I understand it's not for everybody, and it feels good to see people with a sensitive ear for what I'm trying to go for in my tracks. Thanks for coming, and I must say your stuff is pretty sweet too.

It's a bit hard to understand where it's going with just the single lead and not much else going on besides percussion. I left a bit confused. I'm sure it could be used in a really creepy level though. :P

metroidfannumber1 responds:

I was trying to be silly. :P

Rap version of super Mario bros.. Ha! What was I thinking?

Have no idea what the guy below me is talking about. The lower octave came out beautifully and without cluttering the melody's space as it would if it were higher. Excellent work! Only thing that needs any work is the looping -- it's good, but not quite perfect! Good execution. I could listen to this for hours. :)

metroidfannumber1 responds:

Why thank you! I am really proud of this one! I think I tinkered around with it for months but the serious work was within a week.

As for the loops, I never did figure it out. And it always sounds weird when it loops.

Does feel a little unfinished, like you said. I really like the melody though. Maybe could loop it? Crazy gliding sounds great. :)

metroidfannumber1 responds:

Oh wow! I didn't expect you to follow me! Golly! Flattered!

I also have another song like that but I enjoy listening to that more. These songs just feel so unfinished and whenever I add something it doesn't sound right and I end up going backwards. This is hard. I didn't have that kind of trouble with the other songs.

Vocals are a bit pitchy, but I like it. Maybe add some more chorus or delay to the vocals, some EQ, give them that extra punch. I've even heard of people dropping them an octave on certain points for effect.

I feel It this single did need a lil work.
