Writing is fine. 808 could be a bit stronger in the mix. Brass has too long of a decay on the reverb and just too much of it in general. It leaves it feeling weaker. Needs to be darker. Snare could use more grit. Flute is so mellow, it just doesn't leave a good taste. I just feel your samples and instrumentation aren't really standing out too much. Work on subtlety and presentation.

I guess we are going to have to agree to disagree, but that's always fine with criticism. I agree that the flute is pretty mellow. I feel the snare is just about where it needs to be. If there's anything I'm particularly picky about, it's the snare. This 808 actually kills the subwoofer in my car. I had to tune it down in FL Studio a little bit. Perhaps that's not a good idea to judge by my sub. I could see car audio being funky versus headphones. Overall, I myself am happy with the turnout of the song. I usually compare my songs to other songs I have made in the past, and all I'm concerned about is improving. Thanks for your review!

Sounds like very simple ... I really have no idea. Has the perc elements of electronic music, and the bass of electronic music, but the instrumentation is close to classical. It isn't hard to listen to, but it could stand to have a lot more than just piano in your composition. Shoot me a mail if you'd like some tips working with Nexus.

Lots of distortion, but your hats are on point. That's really about the best I can say for this beat. It's just not really that pleasing to listen to.

Jazzy, but sounds a bit like canned presets. I feel like you could have taken us a bit higher, considering the great tools you have to work with. The drums are laying down in the mix. However, for a WIP, this is pretty great.

That trumpety/boney synth just kills me. You could really bring it here with something less obviously synthy. Anyone who has ever played an actual trumpet or bone will cringe upon hearing this. Either it needs more velocity and modulation, or it must go. Who knows, maybe even grab a live bone player off of here. There are more of them than you think, and that's a simple line!

What I will praise is the composition. It's compact, together, and varied enough that I'm not bored. Good work!

Absolutely brutal sounds in the beginning, which I like. Lots of pretty wubs. What I'd like to see more of is melody, structure, and harmony. But this shit is fucking... holy god, so many good sounds. Save all that shit as presets, and mail them to me. xD I really like what you've got going on here.

I told Mysterious Presence I would attempt some melody. I'll have to look through my synth library to find something that would work.
Thanks so much for the feedback, I'll certainly mail you the files for the stuff I've used. I'm really glad you like this track.
