There's nothing like keeping oneself busy to be on good spirits :)
If you have some spare time in between your duties, (and if you are interested of course) I have a project in mind.

I might be able to move some hours around. Lay it on me!

Hopefully such intensive, back-breaking labor is also highly lucrative!

Proud to have you as a fellow Hand of Fate in this year's Audio Deathmatch. Give 'em hell!

It should pay around 250 dollars. A lot of work for 250, but hey. I also don't have a car or anything else to do other than mod and judge and make music, so I don't mind. Plus, my employer isn't made of money, and I need to get some job experience after all this damn school, heheh.

I'm just about to get on and get to scoring, check Discord, etc. I'm still getting used to using it. Not like Skype, which I used to have running all the time until people started harassing me. Will get to the inbox asap. I've got your mails up in another tab and half replied to. Been baby sitting all day. Anyway, I'm off for tonight and going back in the morning, so should be time to get things done.

congrats on your job

Thanks! It's not going to be a consistent thing, but definitely something I needed!

life is more important :)

Always. Helping out keeps me sane, though. :)

i learnt about the word 'ecstatic' from the rick ross song MC Hammer

Pretty sure I learned it when the LDS showed up on my door and my dad let them in to try and banter with them. Wild times, man. Wild times.

pick a human name and not a robot one next time why don't you

This is my human name! Minus the 3 and the -. I'm Adrean and I got tired of being a genre :P

beep boop must make music

so you went from Andrea to Adrean? That's p damn elegant. Actually that's genius. I was almost named Adrian, I might have preferred it tbh but it's kinda hard to imagine myself with a different name.

Funny thing, I was almost named Adrienne from birth. Mom had a change of heart though. But yeah, that's the general idea. I came up with the spelling on a whim and kicked the N to the back of my name. Interestingly, since changing my name, I started on the route to becoming a Christian. Adrean recalls the Adriatic sea Paul was going through when he was shipwrecked near Malta. Unsure if I mentioned before.

You can check out the postulated location and tradition here.

is that you with a beard?

Yep, me. I let an art major draw on my face

Going for a Spock beard? Or perhaps a Gordon Freeman

Neither, actually. @littlemisfortune brought a ton of makeup for our friends to rifle through, and they took turns giving me a beard, lol. People have been confused about my real gender since 2005, so I figured I'd keep 'em guessing.

you absolutely murdered the quran in that thread. RIP I gotta call the cops tho

Hah, just make sure I don't get sent to a Sharia court. ;) I've been studying the subject for a few months now and just couldn't keep quiet. If you're interested in that sorta thing, I'm gonna be creating a study playlist. :)

heck yeah I'd be interested. I actually have a copy of the quran (couldn't tell you what version, assuming there's different ones) but haven't got around to reading it yet.

Haven't gotten that playlist down, but you may be interested in some of the lectures by Jay Smith. I'll pop some here.

Every entry from that point in the playlist should be Islam centered and give you a good jumping off point.

I also highly recommend Patricia Crone's "Meccan Trade and the Rise of Islam". I snagged it for Kindle at the recommendation of Jay Smith and it's a great read if you're interested in seeing the myth of Mecca as the birthplace of Islam shattered.

What if we started a service like audible but it was focused only on theological work

and it was called Gaudible (or god-able)

that's a million bux waiting to happen son

Let's do it. How does one even go about that? Would we just serve up playlists or what?

also yeah neat, I've actually been listening to lectures a lot recently in lieu of podcasts so I'll throw these on the lineup

I dunno lol I haven't thought this through

Hmm.. We could always start a podcast series instead, although that requires more work than serving up podcasts :P

I think we could start a website with a free library, ad-supported, or something.
