Well, how bad are your eyes? I sit on the computer like 12 hours a day and my eye sight is only a 2.5-3...

Oh dear. I've had glasses since I was 5 and a bit. I've got these fit black framed ones now. Do you how weak your eyes actually are? I think at the minute I'm a -9 in my right eye and a -8.5 in the left. In simple terms that's nearly as weak as they can go.
Aything more than a foot infront of me is a complete blur. Seeing as I've had my specs for ages now, they're pretty much an extension of my body now. If there is such a thing lol.
Oh, and don't ever consider laser surgery. It's a cosmetic procedure meaning it's not permanent and the worse your eyes are the less chance there of it being completely successful.
You'll get used to them soon hopefully. Or throw them off and put them in the blender :P

I was supposed to have them when I was four, so my guess is that they're pretty weak. I can't remember the numbers, but they were pretty bad from the way the doc was talking.
I can barely make out faces from any more than 15 feet and I can read best when whatever I'm looking at is about 5 inches from my eyes. If you hold something out in front of me, it'll start to blur at about 8 inches out, but I'll still be able to see it. I'm a little color blind (pink looks like gray to me), so that doesn't help much.
I've basically memorized the exact placing of almost every object in my house (reason/excuse #1 why I never clean my room) by now and I can pretty much go anywhere in the vicinity while blindfolded. It's useful if you can't see well in daylight. I see better at night. Everything runs together when there are lights on or I'm in the sun.

Hmm, yours are probably about the same or a bit worse than mine then. It's funny when my friends ask to try my glasses on though as they walk about as if everythings just got 5 times bigger/smaller.
They say that when they go cross eyed they can actually see with them lol. If I fall asleep with them I get one mother of a headache though which isn't fun. The force is strong in them :P
